Date: 2012-05-22 02:24 pm (UTC)I just finished my second read of CNV, and I have to congratulate you on making me cry, and feel total heartbreak, even when I KNEW what was going to happen. It's an amazingly breathtaking book, and I would love to ask you what happens to Maddie after the war.

Date: 2012-05-22 08:16 pm (UTC)I didn't expect a real answer, since I know a lot of authors do not like revealing what's in their heads about various characters after the pages of the book, but I can't help hoping that she does have a happy ending (inasmuch as anyone who's been through what she has can have one).
I am recommending the book to everyone I know, even though I am usually a "happily ever after" flowers and bunnies kind of reader -- this book was that powerful and that moving. I hope that it garners you even more readers than the Ethiopian/Mordred books have done.
