I mean, Eagle of the Ninth, the movie.

I think I posted a link about this film when I first heard they were making it. Apparently they changed the name because people thought it was about golf.

For you film/history/sutcliff buffs out there, the wikipedia entry has some interesting factoids about various [in]accuracies... (I especially like the symbolism of the Romans being played by Americans):

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha!

It's almost as good as the reason why they had to change the title of The Madness of King George III.

Hey, I liked Henry IV, both parts. And Richard II. (And Richard III, but that is chronologically later.)

I have actually been meaning to read both Henry IV's and then Henry V back to back, to watch Prince Hal change before my very eyes. (I have been meaning to do this for about ten years, so it may in fact never happen.)

For plot purposes in the Christmas episode of "Glee," the teens each sat on the lap of the mall Santa and gave wishes. One of them asked
to have Channing Tatum stop being in movies.
For parity, I wish they would have said something about the symbolism of all those Hungarian actors. :-)

That's great about the title - how did I miss that reading all these years - especially with its being set in Scotland? ("Channing Tatum is Donald Trump!") I suppose that means we'll never see a sequel called The Eighteenth Bogey, at least.

It does seem appropriate to have the Romans be played by Americans, but I rather wish they all talked like Mario and Luigi - for that extra touch of authenticity.

I haven't gotten over the horror that was Centurion yet, so I'm not too excited about this one. Mind you, I read the book about thirty years ago. As I recall, it was quite a good read, so perhaps the good folks in movie-making land will surprise us.

Occasional lurker here...I'm torn between hope and a terrible feeling that they won't get it right.
