wot I'm reading

I've got posts over on Campaign for the American Reader and also Writers Read, blogs maintained by Marshal Zeringue with the noble yet straightforward purpose of encouraging people to read.  As usual I'm in the middle of a dozen books (I've left out some of the weirder things my eclectic tastes run to, such as Le Cheval Sans Tete).  Manga Shakespeare ranting ahead.

You're sure about manga only being pulp fiction? Have you read Buddha by Tezuka yet? Or - more accessible - The Walking Man by Jiro Taniguchi?

I find manga covering every kind of fiction (or admittedly kink) - just like the medium "book". We just don't get a very wide selection over here ^^.

you're right, it's a gross generalization in terms of content. But doesn't the word manga just mean comics? Just as the words pulp fiction mean cheaply printed and mass-produced literature? I don't think it's an inaccurate description for general use.

Fair enough, although the confusion would start with the reader depending on what his previous personal definition of pulp fiction was ^^

Let me bask in that one, it happens so rarely.

Of course I can't write books for toffee, so in the long run YOU WIN! Even my imagination went missing (because I got lazy) in adulthood. Which is why I sponge off others' imagination.
