best birthday ever

OK, so my birthday has been going on for nearly two weeks now (

deliasherman says that in her family you get an extra day of celebration for every decade you've lived, which makes me about ahundredsomething), and although I really ought to move on, I need to say thank you *AGAIN* to everybody.  And also to put up all the links so I can show off what everybody did.  This beautiful Telemakos icon is by mhari, for a start.  And marguerlucy pointed me to this piece of fanart, which is off somebody's blog in China as far as I can work out.  But hirnverbrannthas done an ORIGINAL picture especially for my birthday (leaving me in awe of other people's talent).

And yesterday rainbowjehanchecked in with this.  If you read through the comments you will sense a lot of admiration for her incredible courage in daring to consider posting such a thing and let me say that I myself am abject in the face of such courage. And also, I think it is quite good.

It is kind of overwhelming to have all this writerly stuff coming at once, as I've never experienced anything quite like it; and curiously, it is coming from random quarters, like the lion's head pendant from my aunt, and a HUGE stack of notecards that arrived yesterday from the incredibly awesome ACB (my best friend from the Folkore Dept. at Penn, former roommate, collaborator on articles, and wanna-be press agent)--the cards feature these scenes from The Winter Prince.  Drawn by me in my youth.

And then this morning I got a cupcake from MORDRED.  !!!!  (Did you know Mordred has a blog?  It is here at  illgotten).  MY CUP RUNNETH OVER.
