Friday 9.00 p.m. Reading: "From The Mark of Solomon and new work." I'm sure I did say I'd do this, although I have no access to any of my new works from where I'm sitting this week... what a dope. I only brought the ms. of The Empty Kingdom with me because I thought Gramma might like to read it. (30 minutes)

Sat. 7 July, 1.00 p.m. autographing

Sat. 2.00 P.m. Coyote Road Reading, again, with many other fine people (one hour)

Sun. 8 July, 2.00 p.m. Kaffeklatsch

It's usually pretty relaxed for me. Not too many people know who I am, so I do like doing it.

just for the record, I have never done an autographing that I didn't enjoy... I always worry that no one will turn up at mine, so I am always happy to see people there!

exactly correct! the chat is I guess supposed to be about writing but it doesn't have to be. I think it's pretty common parlance at fiction conventions, a chance to talk informally with writers (you have to sign up and there's a limit to numbers so that it stays manageably intimate).

At my first kaffeklatsch some dude came along and started non-stop raving about someone else's book, a book I didn't particularly like anyway, and I had to tell him to shut up. Way to make a great first impression, E Wein!

Omg! that sounds like kaffeklatsch indeed. but in germany, I guess, it has nothing to do with books. my granny used to habe kaffeklatsch with some of her friends on sundays. with cake,tee and nice chatting.

I wish we would have such a kaffeklatsch like you got. chatting about books makes much more sense then just talking about random things.

I am so happy to have "met" someone who has read that book in German! Sorry there are no other translations--we keep trying to sell the others to a German publisher but no bites yet.

This icon actually comes from the german hardback.

^^;;I really LOVE this pciture so much. once I saw a paperback version of your book with a, nice but, cliche-prince-like pic of lleu on it. he had a big crown on the head and looked like some kind of disney-prince. it was scary!^^;;
