At the very lovely annual Teen Titles reception in Edinburgh yesterday, I promised a couple of budding writers that if they looked me up on Facebook I'd post a list of online magazines and sites specifically geared for teen writers, and here it is! Feel free to add if you know of others. Hope these are helpful to some of you, and pass them on.

YA fiction for and by young adults:

Very good advice here (if a little harshly honest) by respected writer and blogger John Scalzi:

If you would like to add to this list, please comment on another of my LJ entries. Unfortunately I have had to lock the comments on this entry because it is attracting SO MUCH SPAM from a Japanese designer handbag outlet that I now want to find the responsible party and beat their computer to molecular dust with a designer handbag.

Great list! I'd also like to recommend the amazing Alpha SF/F/H Workshop for Young Writers (http://alpha.spellcaster.org/). It's held every year in Pittsburgh, PA, and welcomes applicants age 14-19 from anywhere in the world.
