weird literary allusions

ok, this is a shot in the dark, but is there anybody else out there who thinks that Ian McEwan's Atonement is obviously a retelling of the 4th branch of The Mabinogion????? Because I'm just dying to discuss the eerie similarities, if anyone's interested. (And isn't it like Alan Garner's The Owl Service, too.)
