Frost is amazing. We had three days of hoarfrost a couple of years ago, and it looked as though everything had turned to crystal. And another time there was this thin film of ice all over everything so that you could peel these perfect casts off the leaves in the garden, like glass. And drops of mist freezing, so that the air shimmered with them. Not extremes, but tiny gradations of weather creating phenomena I'd never seen or imagined.
