The Winter Prince is being remaindered

Dear everybody,

The Winter Prince is about to go out of print FOR THE SECOND TIME. Chances of its being reprinted again are slender, and this is particularly heartbreaking to me because the "series" is only halfway completed, so anyone coming to it new won't be able to pick up the first book (The Sunbird comes out in paperback in January 2006; two new books are scheduled to come out in 2007).

If you don't own a copy of The Winter Prince, or your best friend or your mother or your brother or your niece or your teacher needs a copy, please go buy it NOW, while you can, and spread the word to anyone and everyone you think would enjoy it (link to this entry if you like). And while you're buying books: A Coalition of Lions will undoubtedly be next for the chop. I've already been given advances on all these books, and it won't make any difference to my income whether or not there's a sudden rising blip in their slender sales records, but I want to go down FIGHTING.

Thank you, all of you.

Love, E Wein

I so hate this kind of short sightedness...that book ought to be kept on the shelves until the series is complete!!!!

But when the series is done, that might be different.

Well, there is always the chance of a reprint.

((Elizabeth! This is Suzanne, Katherine's friend! I only just now learned that you have an LJ. Wheee! Now I can hear about your adventures! About your book: You have my sword. Let me know what I can do. I get paid this week, so I will definitely swoop up some copies!))

I am delighted to find you! How are you? (Ack, it has been too long!)

I found you through [livejournal.com profile] coffee_and_ink, who is on my friends list. It amazes me how many people from the past I have found again through LJ.

It is so good to hear about your writing and your family. If you ever pop back over here, maybe our paths will cross again.

In the meantime, I am happy to support your creative work in any way I can-- you have a great gift.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. I think I will buy a few copies and give them as gifts to deserving parties.

[wince] And it was hard enough to find already... Why do all the good books go out of print? [grumble grumble, grouse grouse, etc.]
