vintage verity

this is kind of on the useless side of useless since you can't actually comment there, but my latest time-wasting project is a sort of time-wasting project blog in which I post on my website various of my 1940s retro knitting projects, sewing projects, e-bay purchases, etc. Madness.

oh and BTW this first entry appeared in my LJ blog last year.

I keep having the tab to the new website open to remember to tell you how much I like it - and now you've even got my one point of criticism fixed ^^ - I didn't mind that old typewriter font as a headline but it is REALLY difficult to read as the font for the rest of the entries. So glad that isn't the case any longer.

Still love that handicraft side of yours ^^.

Arial and Tahoma are good for my eyes on the web, so is Times New Roman - but that old typewriter font has various thicknesses of the strokes in the letters on purpose and especially in a small size therefore starts blurring to me - so it's good in a headline, but not otherwise.

I sometimes increase font size on various pages, but I could read your site without that.

;-) I'm sure people who had to read pages and pages and pages of this on thin yellow paper weren't much happier, heh.

The retro knitting is pretty awesome, actually.

Only six seams? Hmmm....

Love the sweater. I've started knitting again, and some of those old patterns are looking very good to me. They are kind to ladies with balconies. :)

They are tons of fun. But it is important to remember that the waist of pants/skirts in the 40s actually sat at the waist, so the sweaters wind up leaving you with kind of a cold middle if you're not careful.

So, if I knit the WAAF vest, I will have to be sure to lengthen it. Gotcha.
