okay, all you Fullmetal Alchemist addicts, my children are now out on the patio trying to fill a transmutation circle with bugs. They're sitting crosslegged, facing each other over their chalk drawing.

Mark: NO, SARA, if you do that all the bugs will come!

Sara: It's okay, Mark, we can easily make them go away again. All right, are you ready? Three. Two. One.

In unison--excuse me, WHEN EXACTLY DID THEY PRACTICE THIS?--they clap their hands and slap them down into the circle.

Mummy: Oh, thank goodness, it didn't work. Maybe you didn't draw your transmutation circle properly. Get on with it, I have to go unpack the groceries.

EEYAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Meanwhile, Tim is away on his office summer outing, giving joyrides to all his workmates in a Beechcraft Sundowner (whatever that is) which he flew for the first time this morning.

EEYAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

It is sometimes scary being married to Tim. Has anyone out there read The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger? It is like that, sometimes. You don't know where he's going and you don't know when he'll be back and you hope he's safe.

You are teaching them that human transmutation is wrong, right?

*hoots with laughter* That's WONDERFUL. I'm going to link to this post unless you object.

That's hilarious. And good response! It's the reply that keeps on giving. They'll keep trying over and over, and develop drawing skills to boot.

Here from [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes; your children rock.

Coincidentally, reading through some of your older entries (um, does that seem stalker-ish?), you said your neighbour's son goes to the Glasgow Anime meets? *is now trying to work out whether she knows him or not* Small world..

Here from metaquotes as well - How old are your kids? Because, like said above, they totally rock. And the fact that they have an after-school club with other kids makes my day. XD

Also here from metaquotes and have to say you make this sound infinitely funnier than it ever could have been. Good job.

Also...yes, your kids rock.

Also here from Metaquotes. This seriously just made my night. I salute you, and I think your kids rock. XD

Can I forward this?

I remember reading this when [livejournal.com profile] coffee_and_ink had originally mentioned it. It came up recently when I was talking with a friend who works at FUNimation (they release FMA in the US) and he really wanted to see it.

Would you mind horribly if I give him the link?

Your entry totally made my day. (A friend of mine forwarded your link to me) I work at FUNimation where most of my work is on FMA, and to know that kids enjoy it this much makes me smile on the inside. Totally a reward.
