princesses, BLEAH

does Didem's icon have anything to do with Twilight?

n.b.: This is not a review. It is a comment on somebody else's "to read" choice.

Oh good grief.

(This demonstrates why I do not, ever, google my own stuff.)

Somewhat bewilderingly, Dorktastic Dude's icon is a ...strawberry.
And the whole Twilight thing is an apple.

...and why post something on Goodreads that you haven't read? Oy, spare me stupid people.

Yeah I'm like that, too. I won't read anything that doesn't have a picture of fruit on the cover because just, you know, wot eva. Also I can't actually read. I'm a moron.

Good lord, I hate internet Trolls.

Though I do confess that particular cover art does not do justice to the book. The 1993 macmillan blue one is much more modern meets classic. I think that's why i picked it off the shelf in the first place, because the cover art was cool.

It's like a bad joke. And also, what about that cover would make anyone think it has anything to do with princesses?

What kind of review is that? And I didn't understand the meaning (maybe because of my English or maybe because it's meaningless).

Here in Italy we have one word to call the people like her (I suppose the review was written by 'a her'): bimbeminkia.

[identity profile] lucre-noin.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... it's a bit rude to say also if on the internet people use it a lot. It's an internet language. A bimbaminkia is usually a young girl that is a bi of a noob and is obsessed with handsome artists of rock bands or handsome actors or dubious novels. Bimbeminkia scream a lot and are very childish.
Maybe it's more polite to say 'bambinetta' (singular, and 'bambinette' as the plural). It means childish and it's less rude : D

I understand. 'Junk' has always had a vague meaning of 'stuff' for me.

- my obscure reference to Telemakos taking opium-
: ( and this reminds me that I have to buy the sequel of The Winter Prince. If I'm lucky I'll buy them for my next birthday or this summer on amazon.

I find kind of funny that the idea of princesses (like a fairy tale) only because of the title.
