hello, I'm done. The written manuscript of The Sword Dance is now complete. I feel like it ought to be on vellum or something, but no, it's in a Staples Composition Book with a blue cardboard cover.

I don't know what the final word count is (or, indeed, if anyone cares). Suffice it to say that by the time I've finished typing it up, it will be well over 500 pages.

And I've already cut 40 pages from the beginning.

Ezra Pound, where are you when I need you! Come back, all is forgiven.

Last night, I had the pleasure of reading A Coalition of Lions. Given the beauty of your characters, their depth & drama, as well as the wholesome development which all to maintain their honor and dignity, I care to know you've completed another book. The Lion Hunter is on docket for tonight's read.

I loved Priamos. To know that you allowed him to be both strong & emotional is one of the greatest gifts you offer our world. This book is a rarity in the YA department. I'm glad someone had the wisdom to represent your work.

thank you SO MUCH for those kind words. I work in such a vacuum that it is always especially nice to hear from people out of the blue--to know that there are people out there, and interested. It's also always a delight to hear some praise for Coalition, which tends not to be readers' favorite of my books.

I love Priamos too--I found, in writing the book, that it was not possible for Goewin to fall in love with him until I did.
