well, I'd say curling is most definitely Scottish, though transferred to northerly climes in general, and Wikipedia avers that the word "curling" first appears in print in Perth, which is where we live!
(This is the first I've looked up the wikipedia entry, and it cracks me up that it says curling is related to shuffleboard in the very first paragraph.)
The Playmobil curlers were actually our own invention. We used the ice from the Dinosaur Expedition set, and I think that the curling stone is actually from the stable/pony set... I won't say what!
My kids are wonderful helpers as far as tree decoration goes.
